And the vote is in…our tellers are tops

The Tullahoma News had a recent contest to determine Tullahoma’s Finest in over 50 categories. In the community-wide vote, our tellers came out on top, with Kathy Luckado being voted Tullahoma’s Best Bank Teller and Susan Warwick being named a Finalist. Kathy recently transferred to the Loan Operations Department but plans to use her award-winning customer-service skills to ensure top-notch service there as well. She will also work as a teller occasionally.

Kathy has been with The Bank of Tullahoma since last August and has over 20 years of banking experience.  She says she strives to be friendly with her customers and find the answers to any questions or problems they might have. Keep up the good work, Kathy!

We take pride, not only in Kathy and Susan, but our entire staff of tellers, including:  Dianne Phipps, Michelle Partin, Amy Burns and Hannah-Marie Curlee.  We don’t always agree with election results, but this election we most certainly agree.our tellers are Tullahoma’s finest.

"Bean the Banker" a Hit at Tullahoma Business Expo

The annual Tullahoma Business Expo, co-sponsored by the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce and the Tullahoma Business & Professional Women’s Club was a big hit and a lot of fun again this year. Nearly every bank employee was able to participate and a good time was had by all.

The Bank of Tullahoma won "Best Booth" with our "Bean the Banker" contest. Expo visitors tossed bean bags through cutouts in photographs of bank officers Bill Yoder, Gerald Player, Howard Kirksey and Pat Welsh. Prizes were awarded based on number of accurate tosses. We wonder why Howard’s picture took such a beating. It seems he was a popular target for some reason!

Events like this are a win-win for everyone. It’s great to see and visit with our bank customers and prospective customers when they stop by our booth. Experiences like the Expo also help employees as we listen to the public’s ideas, suggestions and concerns regarding local banking and banking in general.

The two sponsors do an excellent job in our community and it’s especially good to be involved in Chamber-sponsored activities. We love giving back to our community in this fun and informative way.

Look for us at next year’s Business Expo and be sure to stop by and say "hello".

Relay for Life Message Hits Close to Home

The Coffee County Relay for Life became a "Rally for Life" at the bank this year, as an employee, an employee’s spouse and several of our customers have struggled with cancer. Bank employees rose to the challenge in our own small way to support these special people by forming a team for the Relay for Life held the last weekend in April.

Hundreds of locals "walked the walk" from dusk Friday until dawn Saturday with the aim of raising money to help fund cancer research and treatment and services for local cancer patients. The Relay for Life is an official fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and involves dozens of teams which set up campsites around a track. In spite of the seriousness of the cause, it is a fun evening and entertaining to see all the different booths and costumes, some of which are pretty far out.

Thanks to the generosity of bank customers and employees, The Bank of Tullahoma was able to donate over $2,100 to the Relay for Life effort this year. Many people want to help fight cancer but don’t know how, and the Relay for Life makes it fun and easy. It’s especially gratifying knowing our efforts went to such a good cause.

All our employees appreciate the organizers of the Relay for Life and look forward to other opportunities to help raise funds for this worthy cause.
